The Plan Incliné, one of the most visited river sites in France, has been in service since January 27, 1969.
The latter replaces a string of 17 locks spanning 4 km, which used to require a whole day of navigation.
A visit to the building and the engine room, as well as various boat or train tours, allow visitors to become familiar with the world of inland waterway transport.
