    La Chatte Pendue culminates at 899 m. An orientation table from the Vosges club in Strasbourg allows you to enjoy a superb view of the Champ du Feu massif, the Climont, the Donon and on a clear day, the Black Forest... But the originality of the place lies above all in its unusual name which has been the subject of numerous interpretations. Formerly called "Pirre hhatte pendaïe", High hanging stone. The guttural pronunciation of the "H" or transcription errors by surveyors would have transformed the hhatte into a pussy. See the map
