Nideck waterfall

The Nideck waterfall in Oberhaslach is an essential place for discovering original landscapes, it is located 40 km from Strasbourg.

Located at the entrance to the Bruche Valley, in the Vosges d'Alsace, the Nideck Waterfall is discovered a few kilometers outside the village of Oberhaslach. It rises to 534 meters above sea level, to the south of the remains of Nideck castles. The water flows from a wall of volcanic rock about 25 meters high.

There exists a legend, that of the giants of Nideck, which gives this place a special atmosphere reinforced by its wild and woody side.
In summer, the promenade is both refreshing and shaded. In winter, the place becomes very romantic thanks to the charm of the waterfalls caught in the ice.

The waterfall is accessible by a hiking trail from the D218, in front of the Nideck forest house.
