In Framont-Grandfontaine, the powerful extractions and the flourishing iron industry of yesteryear have shaped the landscape. The GRABE invites us to look at the traces of old mining sites and industrial buildings that have partly disappeared. Geology, industrial techniques, a page of history to discover or rediscover which made the glory of the "iron know-how" of the miners in the Salm region.
Meeting: 13:40 p.m. Schirmeck-La Broque station. Departure: 14 p.m. parking lot at the village hall (opposite the school) in Grandfontaine. Return around 18 p.m.
Conditions: walking shoes, drinks, flashlight, clothing & protection adapted to the weather. Distance: 5 km. Height difference: 180 m
