Nearest station: Schirmeck-La Broque
For four hours, a museum guide will lead visitors through the Schirmeck security camp, which housed 15,000 Alsatians and Moselle residents who resisted the Nazi regime during the Second World War.
Three highlights will set the rhythm of this annotated tour: the recollection of the historical context of the camp's construction through the visit of some of the memorial's rooms, for 1 hour - a presentation of objects and archives from this camp, exceptionally brought out of the memorial's storerooms, for 15 minutes - a walk of 5 km in the communes of Schirmeck and La Broque, for about 2.5 hours, to discover the camp's historical and symbolic sites. Please bring good walking shoes. View map
