The links between the medical faculty of the Reichsuniversität Straßburg and the Natzweiler concentration camp were already known, particularly the experiments conducted by Eugen Haagen, Otto Bickenbach, and August Hirt, as well as the murders of 86 Jewish people in the gas chamber built for that purpose. All these interactions, interconnections, and collaborations contributed to transforming the image of a hermetic, secluded, and isolated concentration camp in the Alsatian Vosges mountains into one fully integrated into the Nazi system of healthcare and racial hygiene. This exhibition is produced in partnership with the University of Strasbourg and with the support of the Grand Est Region.
