When the idea of creating a rural theater festival began to emerge in early 2017, I was convinced that I had the strength to move mountains, and I didn't think much of the obstacles that might then stand in the way. Today, I can't stop wondering what kind of small miracle the existence of Scènes Sauvages seems to be part of; while this enterprise might seem out of tune with the tumult of the crises we've been going through for the past six years, one relentlessly giving way to the next, I can't help but notice that something does work, and I can't stop wondering what moves spectators and encourages them to join forces for the duration of a show.
What can theater do today? What can it do for the world?
The potential of theater to influence real life, to change the life of human communities, is a question that has always been with me. View map
