Built at the beginning of the 1633th century, this castle was destroyed by the Swedes in 1705 during the Thirty Years' War. In 1778, the French considered rebuilding it, but abandoned the project and, in 1969, the church bell tower was built with materials from the castle... The population followed suit by massively removing stones for the construction of houses. The building was partly restored by the City of Schirmeck in XNUMX.
