In Alsace, hunting benefits from specific regulations linked to local law. Hunting lots are awarded by auction for 9 years (municipal) or for 12 years (state). Only the successful bidder and his guests are authorized to hunt there according to the hunting plan determined by the Administration. One exception: Haslach licensed hunting, located near the magnificent hunting lodge of William II, can allow everyone to learn the practice of hunting, under the conditions set out below. To be able to hunt in Alsace, the French hunter must have a valid hunting license for the territory as well as insurance. The foreign hunter must have an individual hunting license.
